During the last few years here at Bundl, we’ve put a lot of focus into successfully scaling our firm in every area, from our services, to our team, to our global market reach (just to name a few). And the results have given us much to celebrate.

2019 was the Hallmark year in which we were able to consolidate ourselves as a “one-stop-shop” for Corporate Venturing, and we’re still expanding our capabilities. Since then our team has grown from 12 to 52, each new Bundler bringing a unique set of skills in design, growth marketing, financial modelling, business planning, and innovation. All crucial ingredients needed to build and scale a portfolios of corporate ventures.

We’ve also made great strides in our efforts to go global, with brand new:

  • Office locations in Brussels, Amsterdam, and Madrid
  • International corporate clients like OBI, HSBC, and Beiersdorf to name a few

Now we’re broadening our skills and capabilities in the area of corporate venture scaling, and we'd like to introduce you to the new Bundlers that are helping us make it happen. They’ll tell you all about their career journey and share some of their experiences scaling ventures in different industries.

Q: What made you choose this career?

Oliver: I guess you can say I chose this career path because it combines two things I love. The first is that there’s always something new to learn, try out or test, which keeps things incredibly exciting - it keeps me on my toes. Coming up with fresh ideas, bringing them to life and seeing how customers respond to them in real-time is very satisfying.

Then there’s the venture building and innovation side of things. I love working in fast-paced startup environments and helping to bring new products and services to life. Getting new products and services to the people or businesses that need them the most.

Q: What experience do you have scaling ventures?

After finishing my studies in communication and economics, I started as a marketeer at a young company that specialised in scaling businesses focused on sustainable and ecological solutions. That’s where I got my first taste of what it’s like to scale a business.

I was involved in everything from implementing social media campaigns, to marketing automation to creating assets like websites that would attract new leads - and eventually turn them into happy customers. Here at Bundl, I’m drawing on those skills and experiences to help build and scale all kinds of innovative corporate ventures.

Q: What made you choose this career?

Babs: I chose digital marketing because I love to learn and be part of the newest and most innovative things - and what evolves more quickly from day to day than digital tech? I also really love working with people, and thanks to digital tools, we’re more connected than ever.

I get that “growth marketing” is a buzzword, but I’ve been hooked on it ever since I first learned about it. I love the process of building customer relationships and fostering loyalty through experimentation and digital tools. Testing, testing, testing, failing, learning from those mistakes,  and using the insights to succeed and scale. That’s what it's all about.

Q: What experience do you have scaling ventures?

Babs: In the past few years, I’ve had the opportunity to use Growth Marketing as a tool to help companies target leads in new areas, before having a physical presence there. It’s a great way to test out new markets with minimal costs.

I am also the co-founder of a Growth Marketing Agency called boostU, and was heavily involved in its scaling process.

Q: What made you choose this career?

Joris: Actually, as a teenager, I wanted to become either a diplomat or an art director, but I understood quite quickly that they were long-shot goals. What kind of kid dreams of this, am I right?

Once I took the time to deconstruct what I liked about these two careers it came down to two main factors: A passion for critical thinking (i.e. debating) and storytelling. I needed to find a career path that would allow me to combine these two passions. Enter Growth Marketing.

Q: What experience do you have scaling ventures?

Joris: I take great pride in helping young businesses grow and flourish. A big part of it for me has been to use my skillset to help raise the Venture Capital companies need to scale up.

I’m also pretty used to tackling CMO duties combined with intern tasks all within the same assignment. I believe that if you truly want to scale, you need to be willing to invest the best of yourself wherever you can.
