As Essity Ventures’ new Venture Architect, you will take on the mission to join a fast-growing team in a dynamic and changing industry.
You will lead innovation initiatives, from exploring new opportunity spaces, to bringing products to market; leveraging the Essity Venture ecosystem.
We are looking for someone with a unique mix of creativity and business skills and the proper maturity to independently:
- Explore and challenge opportunities and high-friction problem spaces.
- Lead and facilitate innovation and design sprints, to create user-centric solutions supported by innovative business models.
- Validate and test prototypes and solutions for desirability, feasibility, and viability.
- Build compelling stories around new solutions supported by solid business cases.
- Raise awareness and support from Essity leadership, business leaders, and industry experts.
- Bring products and services from idea to market, leveraging internal and external partners in the Essity (Ventures) ecosystem.
- Manage Essity Ventures’ venturing partner activities and investments.
The candidate would ideally be stationed at the Ismaning office (Germany), although any other major office where Essity has a presence would also be accepted. This role supports a mix of remote and in-person work, and may require regular travelling (up to 2 weeks per month).

We are looking for someone with a proven track record of the end-to-end innovation process, creating disrupting concepts, bringing them to market, and contributing to business growth. You do this by closely and proactively collaborating with business and ecosystem partners.
You know your way around complex international organisations, carefully managing relationships and (senior) stakeholders. You can build a global network of partners, experts and advisors. You act as a trusted advisor and sounding board to (senior) management and experts on topics such as innovation, startups, and venturing.
Finally, you have experience in a corporate and/or startup environment, having had your startup or experience in a corporate venturing arm is an asset (not a must).

As a Venture Architect, you know that tools don’t do the work for you, but they can make your job easier. You actively source and test new tools that make life easier. That being said, you also know your way around the following tools:
- Productivity suite (Word, Powerpoint, Excel)
- Team collaboration tools such as Teams
- Design tools such as Figma, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.
- Prototyping tools such as Webflow
- Innovative tools such as pen, paper and post-its
- Any other tool to get the job done (even if that means no tools)
Background
Your background and experience.
We’ve seen multiple backgrounds for these positions. The most typical being product and service design, strategy design, industrial design, innovation, change management, and business design. However, we’re not set on specific areas and are more interested in your demonstrable experience and superpowers.
For this position, we are looking for someone that demonstrates:
- 5+ years of experience in venture building, business model innovation, and product management/development.
- 3+ years of experience in applying methodologies such as the lean startup, design thinking, and agile project management.
You are fluent in English, both speaking and writing. Any other languages are an asset.
